Kelani Jordan believes WWE NXT is a women’s wrestling show right now because the women have taken over the brand in 2026.
In an interview with Going Ringside, Jordan, who is the NXT Women’s Champion, made that claim. But she praised the men’s division as well and talked up the different styles on the roster.
“Well, NXT is still popping,” Jordan said. “I always like to say NXT is a women’s wrestling show. Again, I could be biased, but the women’s wrestlers are literally dominating the scene. But also, our men’s division is awesome. We got Grayson Waller to come back. Of course, he took the title, but I just believe we have a lot of different-style athletes. We have people who are high flyers, people who are more power-based, and people who are more submission or mat wrestlers. So, I think it’s just a really well-rounded scene.”
Jordan’s relationship with Waller came up as well, and she admitted that the things he says often don’t sit well with other members of the roster.
“I love having Grayson around because when Grayson came back to NXT, he put over the women’s division, saying that we were killing it,” Jordan said. “If I was a guy on the roster, I would absolutely hate Grayson. But he did say some nice things about the women, which you don’t really get nice things out of Grayson often, so I’ll take it when I can.”
Waller made his return to NXT on July 28 and blasted the men on the roster for their attitude. In the promo, he put the women ahead of the men.
Jordan talked about the importance of the women getting the spotlight in an interview with Busted Open Radio in September. She brought up her nearly 23-minute match against Kendal Grey at Heatwave and noted that Shawn Michaels trusted the two of them with that much time in the ring.
On Friday, Waller was a guest on What’s Your Story?, Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, and went back to the subject. He said Jordan and Grey are ready to compete on Raw or SmackDown right now and could even be part of a WrestleMania main event.
Up next for Jordan is a title defense against Wren Sinclair on Saturday at Halloween Havoc. Waller will face Tony D’Angelo on the same show.
