The shareholder lawsuit tied to WWE’s sale to Endeavor was settled before trial, but newly released filings continue to reveal sensitive information about the company’s internal dealings.
Janel Grant posted an excerpt on Instagram from the deposition of Michelle McKenna, a former member of WWE’s Board of Directors, in which McKenna said she believed Nick Khan was the person who leaked information about the Vince McMahon scandal to the Wall Street Journal in 2022.
McKenna served on WWE’s board from September 2022 to October 2023. According to the deposition, her theory was that the leak came from someone in management who had access to board meetings and board documents, and who may have had an interest in McMahon leaving the company.
During the same questioning, however, McKenna admitted she had no concrete evidence against Khan. That means the claim should only be treated as an allegation at this point, even though it comes from a former high-ranking figure within WWE’s corporate structure.

The detail gained traction after the Delaware court authorized the release of confidential portions of the shareholder lawsuit, including parts of McKenna’s deposition related to a possible leak to the Wall Street Journal.
The shareholder lawsuit accused Vince McMahon and other executives of steering WWE’s sale to Endeavor in a way that benefited McMahon, who retained a high-ranking role in the future TKO Group Holdings. The case was resolved after an agreement in principle was reached before the trial began.
As of now, Nick Khan has not publicly commented on the new allegation. WWE and TKO have also not issued any official statement on the excerpt shared by Grant.
