LA Knight believes Roman Reigns’ decision to defend the World Heavyweight Championship without help from The Bloodline could end up being the very reason Reigns loses at Money in the Bank.
In a recent interview with Sporf’s James Sweetnam, Knight discussed the possibility of finally beating Reigns after three years and winning his first world title in WWE.
“Man, I mean… You just said it right there, what I’ve always deserved. So at this point, you know what, we’ve been three years in the running for this whole thing, and it’s been three years since Roman and I went one on one. And hopefully we’ll see if things come out a little different this time. But if that moment happens to finally come to fruition now at this point, I’ll say it’s long overdue. We’ll see what happens.”
Knight also pointed out that Reigns has spent this year proving he can win matches without The Bloodline stepping in.
“Look, he’s proven himself this year to be able to do things on his own. If he can keep that up, that’ll probably be his downfall.”
Knight made the same point on the September 21 episode of Raw. He acknowledged that Reigns had defeated Penta by himself and cited other instances in which The Bloodline did not come to Reigns’ aid. He also stressed, however, that Reigns had never beaten him without interference.
Knight’s point goes back directly to his first singles match against Reigns at Crown Jewel 2023. Knight hit the BFT and was close to victory, but Jimmy Uso put Reigns’ foot on the rope to stop the count. Solo Sikoa also interfered before Reigns won the match.
The situation is very different in 2026. Since defeating CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42, Reigns has beaten Jacob Fatu twice, along with Seth Rollins and Penta, without needing The Bloodline to decide any of those matches.
Reigns will defend the title against Knight at Money in the Bank, set for October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
