Liv Morgan is heading toward a notable negative mark in her current reign as Women’s World Champion. If nothing changes before WWE SummerSlam, her first televised title defense will come 105 days after she won the championship.

Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer on Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 on April 18, following interference from Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez, beginning her third reign with the title.

Since then, the champion has appeared in segments, worked non-title matches and competed in the Queen of the Ring tournament, but she has still not put the title on the line.

Her confirmed match at SummerSlam will be against IYO SKY. The Japanese star earned the opportunity by defeating Morgan in the Queen of the Ring final at Night of Champions, then choosing to challenge the champion at the major August event.

That detail had already been pointed out by us here at Wrestling Noticias, when we reported that Morgan’s reign was being pushed into the background by WWE while the champion remained involved in the Queen of the Ring tournament.

With that, WWE will repeat a decision that often draws criticism from fans: keeping a world champion for several months without a televised title defense.

This year’s SummerSlam will take place on Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. If the match against SKY happens on Night 1, Morgan will enter the show with a 105-day reign. If it is scheduled for Night 2, that number will be even higher.
