The rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi is expected to get another chapter, possibly at WWE SummerSlam in Minneapolis.
Lesnar defeated Femi this past Sunday at Clash in Italy in Turin, tying their series at 1-1. Before that, The Ruler beat The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, in one of the most surprising results of the year.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray said WWE needs to close out the story with a third match between the two. He pointed to SummerSlam as the ideal setting, mainly because the event will take place in Minnesota, a state closely tied to Lesnar’s career.
“We talked last week, actually we’ve been talking about for two weeks. Oba wins one at WrestleMania. Brock wins one last night in Turan. We talked about one and one and now we’ll have to have some kind of a blowoff match, some kind of finality to this in the near future, hopefully at SummerSlam.”
“And it’s only going to be three matches. So it’s got to be at SummerSlam in Minnesota. And I would love it for Oba to say, ‘I’ll beat you in your home. I’m coming to your home to defeat you.'”
“So, about the rubber match, about match three and we’re speculating. We’re almost positive we know what we’re going to get as far as SummerSlam and the blowoff. We don’t know if it’ll be a regular match, a stipulation match, gimmick match, whatever.”
“However, my opinion, there’s only one way to settle it with the last warrior standing because I think this is about two warriors fighting. I would not want to see an I Quit match. I don’t see either one of those guys ever saying the words, ‘I quit.'”
SummerSlam will be a two-night event this year, taking place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
