Max Caster announced that he will be away from the ring for a long period and that he intends to seek therapy before wrestling again. He communicated the decision on Saturday during Mischief Night II, an Awesome Championship Wrestling (ACW) event held in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Caster was not even announced for the event. ACW’s official card called for a match between Zack Clayton and Flip Gordon for the ACW National Championship. However, Caster made a surprise appearance, faced Clayton and ended up being defeated. After the match, he took the microphone to talk to the crowd.
He said that he intends to dedicate the time away to personal matters, with the goal of regaining the confidence to return to the ring.
“I’m gonna go home. I’m gonna go to therapy. I’m gonna get it right so that the next time I’m in the ring, it feels like I’m at home.”

Caster also took the opportunity to apologize directly to the fans. He acknowledged that many people were excited about his arrival at TNA and were disappointed by the sudden end of his run with the company.
The statement expands on the apology made on Tuesday, when Caster addressed TNA management and the people who had supported his signing. This time, he said that he still needed to apologize to the audience.
TNA ended its relationship with Caster after a comment made during his entrance at Bound for Glory on Sunday that mentioned the recent terrorist attacks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In his farewell at ACW, Caster also said that he does not know what his next destination in wrestling will be.
