Mercedes Moné has revealed that she once attended a WWE WrestleMania in full disguise to support Bayley, her best friend in wrestling, during one of her matches.
Speaking with the Daily Star, the AEW star declined to specify which WrestleMania it was, saying she’d rather keep that detail to herself.
“If I wanted to say which match, I would’ve put it in my Money Mag. Everybody knows that Pam is my best friend in wrestling. There have been many matches I’ve been to, and she’s been to many of my matches too, supporting me.”
“When you have people like that in your life, you show up for important things in theirs. I love being in disguise and hiding, and I’m always going to support her because she’s the best.
We wouldn’t have this beautiful generation of women’s wrestling if she wasn’t part of it. When you have people like that in this world, you have to support them.”
The revelation lines up with something Bayley herself had previously shared. In 2025, Bayley said that Moné had been present for major moments in her WWE career without fans ever knowing.
The support has gone both ways. Bayley was in the building for AEW Dynamite “Big Business” on March 13, 2024, in Boston to see Moné make her official AEW debut, alongside Naomi and Tamina. The three even joked on social media about wearing disguises so they wouldn’t be recognized.
Their friendship stretches back more than a decade. On August 22, 2015, Bayley defeated Moné, then known as Sasha Banks, at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn to capture the NXT Women’s Championship. The two made history again on October 7, 2015, at TakeOver: Respect in a 30-minute Iron Man Match that closed the show.
