Mercedes Moné Calls AEW’s Women’s Division the Best of All Time

Mercedes Moné has no shortage of confidence in AEW‘s women’s division. The former TBS Champion believes the company has the best women’s roster of all time.

Speaking with the Daily Star, Moné credited the women around her for keeping her at a high level in the ring, pointing to the range of styles and the overall competitiveness across the roster.

“I feel like we have the best women’s division ever. I love stepping into the ring with all of them. They can just throw down and be the best. They want to have the same opportunity as the men.

I feel like anytime I’m in the ring with one of them, they push me because they always bring something so different and a fire that I’m like, ‘All right, I can’t slow down and I can’t hold back because they want this and they train to be the best.'”

The comments come at a key moment for Moné. On August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, she will challenge Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In. Nightingale won the title by defeating Thekla at Redemption on July 26.

Moné earned the title shot by winning the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament for the second consecutive year. At Forbidden Door on June 28, she defeated Maya World and became the first two-time winner of the tournament.

Wembley will give Moné another chance to back up her words about the level of AEW’s women’s division.
