Mercedes Moné Threatens to Beat Up WWE Hall of Famer After Controversial Claim

Ric Flair put Charlotte Flair back at the center of the GOAT debate in women’s wrestling, but his take drew a direct response from Mercedes Moné.

On Sunday, August 23, the WWE Hall of Famer posted an Instagram graphic featuring Charlotte, Moné, Trish Stratus, AJ Lee, and Stephanie McMahon. Flair didn’t just call his daughter the greatest heel of the group; he went further, placing her above every female wrestler he’s ever seen.

“Charlotte Flair @charlottewwe Is Obviously The Greatest Heel, But Actually The Greatest Female Wrestler Of All Time In The History Of Women’s Wrestling! And God Knows I’ve Seen Them All! WOOOOOO!”

Moné, who appeared in the graphic under her former Sasha Banks name, fired back in the comments:

“Do you want to get your ass kicked Ric? Wooooooooo.”

Charlotte also chimed in on her father’s post, though her response was much shorter:

“Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.”

Moné’s response carries added weight given her long history with Charlotte. The two were cornerstones of the Four Horsewomen generation and carried one of WWE’s biggest women’s rivalries in 2016, trading the RAW Women’s Championship back and forth.

That October, Charlotte and Moné also made history at Hell in a Cell, working the first women’s match to main event a WWE pay-per-view.

Now in AEW, Moné has another major match ahead. She’s set to face Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In: London on August 30 at Wembley Stadium.
