Mike Santana began his full-time run with WWE, and the early social media numbers show it made an impact.
According to Fightful, content covering the former TNA World Champion’s arrival in NXT drew more than 6.5 million views across WWE’s platforms in just 13 hours. The count did not break down the numbers by platform, so there’s no split between X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Santana showed up during the closing segment of the July 21 episode of NXT, right after Tony D’Angelo defeated Naraku in a Street Fight to retain the NXT Championship. Santana came through the crowd, climbed onto the barricade, and stared down the champion for the rest of the broadcast.
Although this is being treated as his official debut, Santana had already competed in NXT during the WWE-TNA partnership. At that time, though, he was still with the Nashville-based promotion. This week’s appearance marks the actual start of his run as a member of the WWE roster.
After the show, Santana posted a message about the new chapter in his career:
“The mission is clear. The marathon continues. SH*T JUST GOT REAL. @wwenxt @wwe”
Santana’s last match for TNA came at Slammiversary on June 28, when he dropped the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth.
Before Santana’s debut, WrestleVotes had already reported that WWE planned to call him up to RAW or SmackDown before the end of 2026. Putting him face-to-face with the NXT Champion right out of the gate suggests his run in the brand could start right at the top.
