Mustafa Ali dropped the TNA International Championship to Jason Hotch at Bound for Glory in October, and his current TNA contract is now coming to an end.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Ali’s deal with TNA expires at the end of 2026. But Ali is held in high regard backstage, and TNA is expected to make an offer to keep him.
“Mustafa Ali’s TNA contract is up at the end of the year,” Sapp wrote. “Ali is highly regarded within TNA, and the company is expected to make an offer to retain him.”
It’s the second straight year that Ali’s contract is up in December. Fightful reported back in October 2025 that the contract Ali signed for his TNA return that January was due in December. At that point, Ali was said to be open to offers from other promotions, including NXT.
But Ali ended up signing a new deal. He announced the deal a few days before TNA’s AMC debut on January 15. Like the one before it, Ali’s current contract was roughly a one-year deal, and TNA has had a lot of its wrestlers on short deals.
In 2026, Ali won the International title twice. He first defeated Trey Miguel for it at Rebellion in April, then beat Hotch for it in a steel cage match at Lockdown in August. He held the title for a combined 159 days.
But Ali isn’t the only one in this situation. Shortly after Bound for Glory, Carlos Silva met with the TNA roster and told them that contract negotiations would begin soon, with several deals expected to get done over the next few weeks.
