Nikki Bella could be close to an in-ring return for WWE. According to rumors that began circulating this weekend, the WWE Hall of Famer is scheduled to take part in this year’s SummerSlam.
As of now, however, WWE has not officially announced Nikki for the event, so the information still needs to be treated strictly as speculation.
SummerSlam will take place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This will be the first time the city has hosted a major WWE stadium event.
Nikki’s name makes sense within the current state of the women’s division. She was originally involved in plans for WrestleMania 42 alongside Brie Bella, but an ankle injury suffered on the March 27 episode of SmackDown kept her out of the match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Paige ended up replacing her and won the titles with Brie.
Since then, Brie and Paige have remained active as champions. The duo is also set to defend the titles against Fatal Influence at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18, in a match that had reportedly been part of the original plans for SummerSlam.
In other words, if Nikki does appear at SummerSlam, her involvement could be tied to the future of Brie and Paige.
It is also worth remembering that Chelsea Green previously challenged Nikki to a match at SummerSlam in 2025, saying:
“I’m calling out Nikki Bella. I’m calling out Nikki Bella. Nikki, SummerSlam is only a few months away, honey, here I am. At this point. I’m giving Diva, I’m giving President, I’m giving everything that you used to give fearless. So here I am waiting you.”
Either way, there is no concrete information on that match being part of WWE’s plans.
