WWE continued building toward a future rivalry between Oba Femi and Bron Breakker on Monday’s RAW, which emanated from Norfolk, Virginia.
The segment unfolded after Austin Theory picked up a win over Akira Tozawa. The Vision member kept up the attack on Tozawa after the bell, prompting Adam Pearce to come out with a group of officials to restore order.
As Breakker lined up a Spear on Tozawa, Oba Femi’s music hit. Theory charged at Femi but was quickly dropped. Femi stepped into the ring and stood face to face with Breakker once again, though officials positioned themselves between the two to prevent things from getting physical.
It marked the second staredown between Femi and Breakker in just a matter of weeks. Their history stretches back further than that, though. At the Royal Rumble in January, Femi eliminated Breakker just seconds after he entered the match.
The ongoing storyline between the two centers on who will carry WWE into the future — who truly is the future of the company. That question has been eating at Breakker lately, particularly after Brock Lesnar declared that Femi is the future of WWE.
