Bron Breakker and Oba Femi are finally on a collision course in WWE after months of the company teasing a showdown between two of its top next-generation stars.
The rivalry picked up steam after SummerSlam, where Femi defeated Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell and received the Beast Incarnate’s endorsement as the future of WWE. On the following week’s RAW, The Ruler declared his intention to lead the next generation, immediately calling out Breakker.
Things escalated again last Monday. Femi fought off an attack from The Vision and came face to face with Breakker, while Paul Heyman later told his protégé that he’ll continue to respect Femi until Breakker proves he doesn’t deserve it.
Breakker and Femi have never had a televised singles match. With that in mind, here are three possible outcomes for this rivalry.
Oba Femi Defeats Bron Breakker and Moves Toward a World Title
This would be the most straightforward path if WWE wants to keep Femi’s meteoric push rolling.
After winning King of the Ring and capping off his trilogy with Brock Lesnar with a Hell in a Cell victory, Femi is at a point where any loss needs to serve a bigger purpose. Lesnar raised his hand at SummerSlam and essentially anointed him as his successor.
A win over Breakker would serve as another stepping stone before an eventual program for the World Heavyweight Championship or the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The downside is what it does to Breakker. His presentation has lost momentum in recent months, particularly after the loss to Seth Rollins at Night of Champions and his move back to the tag division. Another high-profile loss would only deepen that problem.
Paul Heyman Turns on Bron Breakker and Aligns With Oba Femi
WWE has already started planting seeds for this scenario.
Breakker is clearly bothered by the mutual respect between Paul Heyman and Oba Femi. On the August 10 RAW, he confronted Heyman directly about whether he truly believes Femi represents the future of the company. The Wiseman’s response only made things worse.
A Heyman betrayal could dissolve The Vision’s current lineup while simultaneously launching a new chapter for Oba Femi.
There’s one significant problem with this path, though. Femi is extremely over as a babyface. Turning him heel just weeks after Lesnar literally passed the torch would be a risky call.
That said, if WWE plans to stretch Breakker vs. Femi across several months, a Heyman-Ruler alliance has the potential to completely reshape the rivalry’s dynamic.
Bron Breakker Defeats Oba Femi Clean
Beating Femi right now might seem counterintuitive, but this could be the outcome that benefits both men the most.
Oba just survived the best Brock Lesnar had to offer inside Hell in a Cell, becoming the first man to ever beat him in that structure. A hard-fought loss to Breakker wouldn’t erase everything he’s built since WrestleMania 42.
Breakker, on the other hand, desperately needs a win of this caliber.
WWE seriously considered booking him to win the Royal Rumble this year, with Triple H internally debating whether the audience was ready for that fast a push. Months later, Bron is still positioned as someone destined for the main event, but he’s missing that signature singles victory to put him back on a world title trajectory.
A win over Femi would solve that problem overnight.
WWE could also wrap up the rivalry with both men walking away in strong positions. Femi would be the guy who conquered Brock Lesnar, while Breakker would stand as the only next-gen talent capable of stopping The Ruler.
For two wrestlers who will likely sit at the top of the card for years to come, this might be the most compelling endgame.
