Omos defeated Rey Mysterio in the main event of AAA TripleMania 34 Night 1 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the win, Omos’ suspension was lifted and he’s cleared to return to AAA.
Mysterio came close to winning after hitting two 619s, a West Coast Pop, and a Frog Splash. Omos, however, kicked out at two. Outside the ring, Dominik Mysterio attacked El Grande Americano with a chair, drawing Rey away from the match momentarily.
When he got back in the ring, Mysterio was caught with a Chokeslam from Omos that ended the match.
After the match, Omos continued attacking Mysterio as the medical team tried to wheel the WWE Hall of Famer out on a stretcher. He shoved the doctors aside, picked Rey up again, and hit another Chokeslam, this time through the announce table.
The rivalry between them started on the August 22 episode of AAA on Fox, when the match between Omos and Galeno ended in a no contest. Omos continued the attack, put Galeno through the announce table, and confronted Rey Mysterio. That’s when Rey suspended him, leading to Friday’s match.
With Omos back in AAA, Dominik can now count on his ally at Night 2 of TripleMania 34. He defends the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano on September 13 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
