Ola de Calor ran before NXT Heatwave on the same day in the same building. The AAA show started at 12 p.m. ET and streamed on YouTube and Facebook outside of Latin America.
The main event was set up on the August 22 episode of AAA. After Penta turned down an offer to rejoin Los Perros del Mal, the group attacked him. Fénix tried to make the save for his brother but was outnumbered as well until Dragon Lee arrived. That formed the trio that would face the stable at Ola de Calor.
