Braun Strowman was considered for The Wyatt Sicks when the group was originally being put together in WWE. The revelation comes from Joe Gacy, one of the stable’s members, more than two years after its debut.
Appearing on Developmentally Speaking, Gacy recalled the early meetings about the project. He already knew at that point that Bo Dallas would be Uncle Howdy, but other names were still being worked out. Gacy said even Erick Rowan’s involvement didn’t become fully clear to him until later.
It was during those discussions, Gacy revealed, that Strowman’s name came up.
“I think there was always a little bit of a talk of Strowman maybe being involved even at some point.”
Gacy stopped short of saying there was ever a firm plan for Strowman and didn’t go into how far those talks went. His account only confirms that Strowman’s name was among the possibilities considered. Alexa Bliss was also discussed, but according to Gacy, her potential involvement came up in even more meetings.
Strowman would have been a natural fit for the project. The Monster Among Men debuted on the main roster on August 24, 2015 as the newest member of The Wyatt Family, alongside Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.
Notably, Strowman was also on the June 17, 2024 episode of Monday Night RAW, the very night Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, and Nikki Cross made their first group appearance in what would become The Wyatt Sicks. Strowman defeated Chad Gable that same night but was never brought into the faction.
In July of that year, Strowman said in character that he felt something about The Wyatt Sicks pulling a dark part of him back out, but that connection never developed into a storyline.
Strowman was ultimately released by WWE on May 2, 2025. All members of The Wyatt Sicks left the company in the cuts carried out this past April.
