Planned Opening Match for Tonight’s WWE SmackDown Revealed

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown from Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, is expected to open with one of the last major Money in the Bank qualifiers.

The triple threat match featuring Tiffany Stratton, Candice LeRae, and Tatum Paxley is currently listed to open the show, according to Viper Reports. The winner will earn the sixth and final spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Running-order details like these come from WWE’s internal rundown and can change before the broadcast begins. The company has officially confirmed the match for the show, though not as the opener.

Stratton is no stranger to this kind of match. In 2024, she defeated Jade Cargill and LeRae herself in a triple threat qualifier and went on to win that year’s Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Whoever wins tonight will join Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, and Lash Legend in this year’s ladder match. On the men’s side, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, and CM Punk have qualified, leaving only one spot open. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Johnny Gargano will compete for it on tonight’s show as well.

Giulia will also face Blake Monroe, who is finally set to make her official in-ring debut on SmackDown after months of backstage trouble between the two.

Money in the Bank is set for October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
