Oba Femi was absent from Raw for the third straight week on Monday, and the reason he hasn’t been on WWE TV may have been revealed.
At this point, WWE reportedly does not have any big plans for Femi before his program with Roman Reigns heading into WrestleMania 43. So, the company chose to take him off TV for a while.
Femi last appeared on the October 12 edition of Raw, where he was fresh off his win over Bronson Reed at Money in the Bank in New Orleans and said he doesn’t want to align with Paul Heyman.
During the Money in the Bank post-show, Femi had a message for Reigns, the current World Heavyweight Champion. Femi said:
“Tribal Chief. No more running. It is about that time.”
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Femi vs. Reigns is one of WWE’s big plans for next year.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select reported that early creative discussions for WrestleMania 43, which takes place in 2027 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, include Femi vs. Reigns. The idea is reportedly for Night Two to see Reigns defend his title against Femi.
Meanwhile, Reigns will face Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship on Saturday at Crown Jewel in Riyadh.
