Stephanie Vaquer remains out of action with an illness that reportedly isn’t serious.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that her condition is not as concerning as early reports may have suggested.

“She’s ill,” Meltzer said. “I was told it’s nothing terribly serious or anything but she’s ill and she’s out… Indefinitely in the sense that it’s not like it’s a week. It’s something that’s indeterminate yet as far as when she’ll be back.”

Meltzer ruled out the idea that her absence is part of a storyline. Vaquer actually got sick and wasn’t able to make it to Monday’s Raw, where she was scheduled to face Becky Lynch in a number one contender’s match for the Women’s World Championship.

Meltzer also shed some light on the last-minute change to the show. WWE was reportedly not planning to do Lynch vs. Liv Morgan on Monday but had to change plans.

The creative team reportedly opted for a disqualification finish because it didn’t want Lynch to lose. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez interfered, and Morgan retained the title.

The illness is separate from the ankle injury Vaquer suffered at Money in the Bank on October 10. She lost the Women’s World title to Morgan that night in a triple threat match that also included Lynch.

WWE itself announced on Sunday that Vaquer was fully recovered from the ankle injury and cleared to return to action, just a day before the number one contender’s match was called off.
