Ring of Honor has brought back one of the details fans had been asking for at this Friday’s Supercard of Honor: the company’s classic black-and-red ring mat. The change was revealed before the pay-per-view began and quickly got a strong reaction from ROH’s more nostalgic fans.
The event takes place at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland, and ROH itself is treating it as one of its biggest shows of the year.
The return of the old look stands out mainly because ROH’s classic identity has been one of the things fans have talked about most since Tony Khan bought the company in 2022. At the time, the acquisition included the video library, brand, intellectual property, and production equipment.

Along with the visual change, Supercard of Honor will feature a loaded card. Bandido will defend the ROH World Championship against Blake Christian, while Athena will put the ROH Women’s World Championship on the line in a Survival of the Fittest Match.
Other highlights include Lee Moriarty vs. Ace Austin for the ROH Pure Championship, AR Fox vs. Lio Rush for the ROH World Television Championship, and Red Velvet vs. Viva Van for the ROH Women’s World Television Championship.
It remains to be seen whether the return of the classic look will be a one-time move or if ROH plans to keep it going forward.
