Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at WWE Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans.
The match was made official following Knight’s attack on Reigns after the Monday, September 14 episode of RAW went off the air on Netflix.
Fan videos shared on social media show Knight coming out after the broadcast and going after Reigns, who left ringside and headed up the ramp. The attack came just minutes after Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta in the main event of RAW in Mexico City.
Money in the Bank had already been shaping up as the PLE where Reigns and Knight would settle their issues. In an August 13 report through Fightful Select, WrestleVotes Radio said there was a “strong sense internally” that the two would meet at Money in the Bank.
Knight had also asked Reigns for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship on the August 3 RAW, suggesting they could meet at Money in the Bank.
Money in the Bank takes place October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
