Royce Keys, one of the biggest recent additions to WWE SmackDown, revealed he has a long-standing connection to the Anoa’i family, right in the middle of the hottest storyline involving Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and Solo Sikoa.
In a recent interview with Joey Karni, Keys said he already knew several members of the Samoan dynasty long before arriving in WWE.
“Jacob Fatu and I have history together. I’ve known this family for a long time. The Usos, Solo, I’ve known this family for a long time, so there’s history there.”

“Jacob Fatu and I have a history together. I’ve known that family for quite a while. The Usos, Solo [Sikoa], I’ve known that family a long time, so there is some history there.”

The statement stands out because Keys already had direct contact with Solo Sikoa on his televised SmackDown debut. After defeating Berto on the April 10 episode, the former Powerhouse Hobbs was approached by Solo, who congratulated him and said he was available if he needed anything.
Before that, Keys had made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, and spent several months working dark matches before being officially introduced to the SmackDown audience.
The timing is also interesting because Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at Backlash on May 9 in Tampa. WWE itself has emphasized that Fatu credits Solo — not Reigns — for bringing him into the company.
In other words, with Solo still trying to rebuild his own power within the MFT, it wouldn’t be surprising if this old relationship with Royce Keys is explored again at some point.
