Cody Rhodes will face Randy Orton at Crown Jewel in the first televised Last Man Standing match of his career. The stipulation was announced on Friday’s SmackDown.
Orton is in a different position. He has wrestled in five Last Man Standing matches on WWE’s weekly shows and pay-per-views, against Triple H, CM Punk and Edge.
Three of the five came against Triple H. Orton won their match at No Mercy 2007 to regain the WWE Championship, which he had lost to Triple H earlier that night.
The rematch came at One Night Stand 2008. Triple H won, and Orton suffered a broken left collarbone that put him out of action. The two met again in a Last Man Standing match on the June 22, 2009, episode of Raw, but it ended in a draw, and Orton retained the title.

Orton’s other two Last Man Standing matches went different ways. He beat Punk at Extreme Rules 2011 but lost to Edge at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.
Rhodes has wrestled under Last Man Standing rules before, though not on television.
During a WWE house show tour, he beat Dominik Mysterio in Boston on December 27, 2023. The next night, he defeated Damian Priest in another Last Man Standing match in Laval, Quebec.
Crown Jewel is set for November 7 at the Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
