Sheamus was asked about signing with AEW, but he didn’t say anything about his future. He said he is enjoying his time away from the ring.

A fan asked Sheamus about it in Chicago on Saturday, during a watch party for Borussia Dortmund’s game against Bayern Munich. In a video posted by Ricky Falcon, Sheamus joked that the fan should ask his wife if he will sign with Tony Khan’s promotion.

“I’m just enjoying my time off right now,” Sheamus said.

Sheamus officially became a free agent on October 1 after his WWE contract expired. He rejected WWE’s offer of a new contract with different terms than his previous one.

On October 23, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select provided an update on the talks. Sapp noted that AEW was not in a rush to sign Sheamus, though Claudio Castagnoli, his former partner in The Bar, and Adam Copeland were in favor of bringing him in.

Sapp reported that Sheamus has had talks with other promotions, but he couldn’t confirm if there has been any direct contact with AEW.

Sheamus’ next public appearance is scheduled for November 14 at the Big Event NY convention in Brentwood, New York. That same day, AEW will hold Full Gear in Phoenix, Arizona.
