Some WWE wrestlers have been reluctant to work with Oba Femi, according to Self Made Pro. The hesitation has nothing to do with personal issues backstage and instead comes from a fear of losing TV time.
On a recent episode of Self Made Sessions, Self Made Pro said several members of the roster believe a feud with Femi could hurt their standing on the card, mainly because of how WWE has been protecting him.
“I know that there were a lot of wrestlers that were hesitant to work Oba Femi.”
Self Made Pro added that the reluctance depends on where each wrestler stands in WWE. He said some of the more established names believe that facing Femi means accepting a secondary role in a program built mainly to further his rise, with no guarantee of getting anything out of it.
Gunther also came up as someone in a similar position. According to Self Made Pro, some wrestlers have not been enthusiastic about the possibility of working with him because they believe there would be little in it for them.
PWInsider’s Dave Scherer previously raised a similar concern while analyzing WWE’s booking of Femi against The Vision. He said Femi’s dominance over the group could hurt the credibility of its members, especially Bronson Reed, who suffered a humiliating loss at Money in the Bank.
WWE, however, reportedly still has big plans for Femi and intends to have him face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 43 in 2027.
