The Rock may be gearing up for yet another major career pivot. After conquering pro wrestling and Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson confirmed he is exploring the possibility of pursuing music on a more serious level.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the former WWE Champion revealed that his primary influences span traditional country and soul. Among the artists he cited were Sam Cooke, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Elvis Presley, and Willie Nelson.
The shift is already underway. Johnson recently released “Your Dad,” a track created alongside American Idol winner Iam Tongi and inspired by his three daughters. The song appears on the album Moana: Voices Across the Ocean, released on July 31 and also produced by Rock himself and his wife, Lauren Hashian.
Johnson also performed on “Along The Way,” a song written by Lin-Manuel Miranda for the live-action Moana, alongside Catherine Lagaʻaia and Auliʻi Cravalho. His music resume now extends well beyond the familiar “You’re Welcome” from the original animated film.

On a related note, Willie Nelson gifted Johnson a rare Martin guitar modeled after his legendary Trigger. Rock has also expressed interest in recording a duets album, though no official project has been announced as of yet.
On the wrestling side, Johnson remains a member of TKO’s board of directors. His last televised WWE appearance came at the 2025 Elimination Chamber.
