Jordynne Grace has been absent from WWE‘s main storylines for months, but the company hasn’t lost faith in the former TNA Knockouts World Champion.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE remains very pleased with Grace backstage, and the expectation is that her creative role will increase in the coming weeks.
That’s a notably positive shift from where things stood in July, when Sean Ross Sapp reported that Grace was still showing up to some shows but creative had no clear direction for her.
More recently, WrestleVotes explained that her absence has been a product of limited real estate on Friday Night SmackDown. With the show back down to two hours and top acts like CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Sami Zayn eating up most of the programming, Grace simply got caught in a numbers game.
WWE are still VERY high on Jordynne Grace.
Her creative is expected to pick up.
(WrestleVotes Radio Q&A)
7:23 PM · Aug 11, 2026Grace arrived on SmackDown in January and was quickly positioned in the WWE Women’s Championship picture. She challenged Jade Cargill for the title on 2/13 but came up short.
Her last televised SmackDown match came on 4/17, a loss to Tiffany Stratton in a #1 Contender’s Match for the Women’s United States Championship. Since then, she’s been working mostly on WWE Main Event.
Based on the latest update, though, that stretch of inactivity appears to be nearing its end. The question now is where Grace fits into SmackDown’s already-crowded women’s division.
