Tommaso Ciampa has no regrets about ending his lengthy WWE run to start a new chapter with AEW.
The Psycho Killer confirmed in January that he would not be re-signing with WWE. His contract expired on 1/26, and just two days later, Ciampa made a surprise debut on AEW Dynamite, officially announced as the company’s newest signing.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Ciampa reflected on the decision he and his family made a little over six months ago.

Since then, we have taken family/work trips to Texas, LA, New York, Boston, and Montreal… next up is Scotland and London.

9:23 PM · Aug 9, 2026Ciampa’s gamble paid off almost immediately. On 1/31, in his first AEW match, he defeated Mark Briscoe to capture the TNT Championship, joining Mercedes Moné as one of the only wrestlers to win a title in their AEW in-ring debut.
Since then, Ciampa has also entered the AEW World Championship picture and most recently competed at Grand Slam Mexico, where he faced Andrade and Komander for an advantage in the Casino Gauntlet at All In. Andrade won the match.
The upcoming trips Ciampa mentioned line up with AEW’s European tour. The company will hold Dynamite and Collision in Glasgow, Scotland on 8/26, ahead of All In: London at Wembley Stadium on 8/30.
