A rumor about a possible AAA invasion of WWE started making the rounds on social media in the past few hours. According to the claim, The Undertaker had pitched a storyline involving attacks on NXT and the main roster, in a format similar to the one used with ECW in 2005. TKO, however, reportedly wasn’t sold on the idea.

After looking into it, though, there’s no confirmation of any of this. The posts spreading the rumor repeat essentially the same text, but none of them point to an original source, an interview, or an outlet behind the alleged report.

The part of the story that checks out is that The Undertaker does have direct influence behind the scenes at AAA. The WWE Hall of Famer works with Jeremy Borash on putting the shows together and is part of the creative team alongside Konnan and Dorian Roldán, under Triple H’s leadership.

Back in January, Undertaker himself explained that his goal isn’t to turn AAA into a copy of Raw or SmackDown. The plan, he said, is to preserve lucha libre’s culture while adding more production value and clearer storytelling.

WWE announced its acquisition of AAA in April 2025, in partnership with the Mexican company Fillip. Since then, the two sides have run Worlds Collide events together and used wrestlers from both rosters across their programming.

The nod to 2005 ECW refers to the build for the first One Night Stand, when talent from the old promotion clashed with WWE representatives.

At this point, though, there’s no reliable indication that an AAA invasion is actually in the works. The Undertaker’s real, ongoing role with the Mexican promotion is part of why the rumor has gained traction, but the claim that TKO is resistant to it remains just as unconfirmed.
