Add as a preferred source on Google Dominik Mysterio was behind one of the biggest surprises on the latest episode of AAA on FOX, taped Saturday night, July 11, at Arena Potosí in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
The current AAA Mega Champion went to the ring with a steel chair and saved El Grande Americano from a group attack by Perros del Mal, the stable made up of Daga, Ángel Garza, Berto, Bronco Nima, and Karmen Petrovic.
The chaos kicked off after Perros del Mal interrupted the match between Money Machine and Noisy Boy & Epydemius Jr., leading to a no-contest finish. Daga then called out El Grande Americano, who showed up alongside Rayo and Bravo Americano. However, the numbers advantage quickly left the masked star alone in the ring.

That’s when Dominik showed up with the chair and forced the group to back off. Moments later, the champion challenged two members of Perros del Mal to a Tag Team Match against him and El Grande Americano at Verano de Escándalo on July 25.
Despite the apparent heroic gesture, this still isn’t confirmation that Dominik is turning babyface in AAA. Shortly before the attack, he had explained that he only wants to protect Americano to make sure their AAA Mega Championship match happens at Triplemanía in September.
The situation also stands out because Dominik and El Grande Americano were once partners in Los Gringos Locos 2.0, but ended up going their separate ways. Now, the former allies will have to work together before facing off for the company’s top title.
