Add as a preferred source on Google WWE has added some stakes to R-Truth and Damian Priest vs. The War Raiders on tonight’s SmackDown (7/31) in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The company confirmed the match will be title vs. title. Both the WWE Tag Team Titles, held by Truth and Priest, and the AAA Tag Team Titles, held by Erik and Ivar, will be on the line.
The angle started on the 6/5 SmackDown, days after The War Raiders won the AAA titles. Erik and Ivar showed up with the gold and challenged the WWE champs.
Truth and Priest accepted on the 7/3 show, but with Nick Aldis out as GM, no date got locked in. Priest confirmed the match for tonight on the 7/24 SmackDown.
The War Raiders beat Psycho Clown and Pagano at Noche de los Grandes on 5/30 in Monterrey to win the AAA Tag Team Titles. They haven’t defended them since.
Priest and Truth have held the WWE Tag Team Titles since 3/20, when they beat JC Mateo and Tama Tonga. Their last defense came 6/19 against MFT, then Tama and Talla Tonga.
Tonight is the final show before SummerSlam tomorrow.
