Baron Corbin and Trick Williams could run it back tonight on SmackDown in Philadelphia, with a WWE United States Championship rematch in the works just days after the title changed hands at SummerSlam.
TRNBCKL Gold reports Corbin vs. Williams is part of the preliminary rundown for tonight’s show, though the match could still be changed or pulled before air.
WWE has not announced it in the episode’s official preview.
Corbin won the United States Championship in his return to televised WWE action this past Sunday (08/02) on SummerSlam’s second night at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. He used the title belt on Williams before hitting End of Days for the controversial finish.
The loss ended Williams’ first reign at 105 days. He captured the title on 04/19 at WrestleMania 42 by defeating Sami Zayn and went on to defend it against opponents including Ricky Saints before running into Corbin.
