TNA Wrestling is not for sale at the moment, despite rumors gaining traction in recent days about a possible deal involving Anthem Sports & Entertainment.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, multiple sources within TNA and Anthem denied that the company is on the market. It was also denied that Anthem is looking for buyers for the promotion.

Another point pushed back on was the rumored $30 million to $50 million price tag that had been circulating as a possible sale price for TNA. Anthem sources said that figure is below the company’s current value, using the word “undervaluing” to describe the speculation.

Claims that WWE would have any right of first refusal to match a potential purchase offer were also denied. Some fans had viewed that possibility as an extension of TNA’s current partnership with WWE NXT, but at least for now, that is not the case.

One source who spoke with PWInsider also criticized the timing of the rumors, saying they appeared designed to be “hurting the company” ahead of Slammiversary. The same source also took issue with a social media account “with no track record or real following” making grand claims that were then repeated by other pages.

The speculation picked up more steam after Tony Khan was asked about potentially buying TNA during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call. After hearing a $40 million figure, the AEW president immediately dismissed the idea, though he did praise the company’s historic tape library.

TNA will hold Slammiversary this Sunday, June 28, at Agganis Arena in Boston. The event will feature Mike Santana defending the TNA World Championship against Nic Nemeth in the main event.
