Tony Khan does not appear interested in buying TNA, though he did not completely close the door on a possible deal down the line.
During the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call, Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston asked Khan whether he would have any interest in acquiring TNA if Anthem Sports & Entertainment put the company up for sale.
Khan initially responded by asking what the price would be. When Thurston brought up a hypothetical $40 million figure, the AEW President was blunt:
“At what price?”
“No, absolutely not!”
Despite the negative answer, Khan praised TNA and acknowledged that the company has valuable assets, particularly its tape library, which includes more than two decades of content.
Still, Khan made it clear that a purchase like that would have to happen at the right price. He also said it is not a priority right now and that he has not had any serious conversations about it.
TNA recently went through a round of workforce reductions, including the departures of Tommy Dreamer and Tessa Blanchard, adding to speculation about the future of the Anthem-owned promotion.
TNA is currently in a close working relationship with WWE. In January 2025, the two companies announced a multi-year partnership centered on crossover appearances involving NXT and TNA talent.
