Tony Khan did not rule out the possibility of AEW acquiring historical tape libraries from other promotions for MyAEW, but he made it clear that does not appear to be the immediate focus.
During the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp asked Khan about potential interest in libraries such as PWG or Lucha Underground. The AEW President said it would depend on the situation, while giving no indication that any negotiations are currently underway.
For now, Khan’s priority seems to be more about promoting and hosting independent promotions on MyAEW, expanding the platform’s reach without necessarily buying entire tape libraries.
MyAEW launched in March in partnership with Kiswe as a digital platform aimed primarily at international fans, featuring live and on-demand events outside the United States and Canada, along with a free FAST channel available globally.
That strategy has already started taking shape. AEW recently confirmed that MyAEW has added content from independent promotions such as Limitless, 1FW, C*4, PRODUCE, Warrior Wrestling, Create-a-Pro, and WrestlePro.
CMLL Presents NJPW Fantastica Mania Mexico 2026 also streamed on the platform, marking the first time a major promotion outside AEW or ROH had a pay-per-view hosted on MyAEW.
Khan’s comments also line up with what he said after Double or Nothing, when he stated that AEW wants to turn MyAEW into a “hub for pro wrestling all over the world.”
This year’s Forbidden Door takes place on June 28 at SAP Center in San Jose, California, and will also be available on MyAEW in international markets.
