AEW may have an unexpected problem on its hands putting together one of the biggest matches at All In this Sunday, August 30, at Wembley Stadium in London.
According to Self Made Pro, several upper-level talents in the company have shown no interest in working the Men’s Casino Gauntlet Match. The report did not name which stars have reportedly turned down a spot.
“Interestingly, compared to other years, it seems now internally, the vibe is that a lot of, like, upper-level guys don’t want to be in this match.”
As of now, Andrade El Idolo and MJF are the first two confirmed entrants. Andrade earned the first position by defeating Tommaso Ciampa and Komander on AEW Dynamite “Grand Slam Mexico,” while MJF beat Mike Bailey and Nick Wayne to lock down the number two spot.
Tommaso Ciampa and Komander have also publicly announced plans to enter the match.
The first two spots carry added weight because of how the Casino Gauntlet works. The match can end by pinfall or submission at any time, even before all scheduled entrants have made it to the ring.
The winner receives a contract for a future AEW World Championship match. Unlike previous years, however, the holder must give Tony Khan at least one week’s notice before cashing it in.
