Add as a preferred source on Google Vince McMahon is a subject of conversation backstage in WWE again, but the idea of him getting close to the company once more is running into resistance inside the locker room.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said at least six active wrestlers liked a post that came out against a return by the former chairman. He did not name them and did not publicly identify the tweet, keeping the talent from being exposed.
“There were a half dozen active WWE wrestlers that liked a tweet. Nobody wants Vince McMahon back in that company.”
Those comments come just days after Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that he would not be surprised to see McMahon turn up in WWE at some point.

Even so, Meltzer ruled out McMahon regaining any real power in the company, replacing Nick Khan, or taking back the creative control Triple H currently has.
It was previously reported that WWE sources in March considered McMahon finished in his old roles and did not expect him to return. That follows what the outlet reported back in 2022, when dozens of employees and wrestlers came out against a return after his first retirement.
McMahon resigned from all of his positions with TKO and its subsidiaries in January 2024. The company’s most recent annual report still lists Ari Emanuel, Mark Shapiro and Nick Khan in the leadership structure, with no role for the former chairman.
The latest speculation picked up after the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant moved to confidential arbitration. That change does not end the allegations, and it is not a negotiation for McMahon to return to WWE.
