Wren Sinclair pulled off one of the biggest surprises on Tuesday’s WWE NXT, winning a battle royal that earned her a shot at Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s Championship.
The match featured 20 women from NXT, Raw, SmackDown, Evolve, AAA and TNA. Sinclair, however, was not even advertised for it.
The battle royal came down to La Catalina, Kiana James, Kali Armstrong and Lizzy Rain. Armstrong eliminated Catalina and James and appeared to have a clear path to victory until the wrestler billed as Lady Shani resurfaced and tossed Armstrong out of the ring.
Moments later, the wrestler unmasked to reveal herself as Sinclair, who had posed as AAA’s Lady Shani to get into the battle royal despite being suspended.
Sinclair was suspended on September 8 after she jumped Jordan following a title defense against Jaida Parker and ended up hitting the referee in the melee.
The attack followed Jordan’s win over Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave on August 30.
