WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match Set for Halloween Havoc

Kelani Jordan will have to defend the WWE NXT Women’s Championship against Wren Sinclair at Halloween Havoc, despite her attempts to get out of the match.

Robert Stone lifted Sinclair’s suspension on Tuesday’s NXT and made the match official.

Jordan had refused to face Sinclair, arguing that Sinclair’s win in last week’s battle royal should not count. She accused Sinclair of manipulating the rules to earn a title shot while under suspension.

Sinclair entered the 20-woman battle royal disguised as Lady Shani and eliminated Kali Armstrong to win it. She revealed her true identity moments later. The suspension had been in place since September, when Sinclair attacked Jordan and hit a referee in the chaos. Their feud began shortly after Jordan defeated Kendal Grey at Heatwave.

During Tuesday’s segment, Sinclair admitted that she used to play it safe but said that losing the Women’s Speed Championship and watching her best friend get hurt had changed her approach. She added that Grey had always believed in her potential and that the time had come to seize the opportunity.

Stone defended Sinclair’s win as legitimate and asked the crowd whether she deserved the title shot. The fans backed Sinclair before Stone made his decision, which went against Jordan’s wishes.

Jordan has the edge over Sinclair in their recent meetings, having beaten her in singles matches in April and May while Sinclair was still the Women’s Speed Champion.

Halloween Havoc is set for Oct. 31 at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
