The Bloodline has reclaimed a prominent spot on WWE TV following Roman Reigns’ decision to reunite his family. Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Jacob Fatu are all currently aligned with the group, while Solo Sikoa remains locked in a direct rivalry with Reigns.
The storyline’s direction hasn’t sat well with Teddy Long, though. Speaking on WrestleMagicPod, the WWE Hall of Famer agreed with the assessment that the company is simply recycling the angle.
“Well, because they have nothing else. You know what I mean? And it’s like the old-school days, they would call it repackage. You know what I mean? But you just can’t keep repackaging stuff, you know?”
Long also pitched an alternative that he believes could have breathed new life into The Bloodline. His idea centered around a major feud between Rikishi’s sons, one big enough to pull the WWE Hall of Famer himself into the mix.
“So, my thing with The Bloodline, I think they could have revived that is they could have had some big feud there between Rikishi’s boys, where they got into a big fight.”
In Long’s version of the scenario, Rikishi would seemingly calm things down, only to be attacked by his own sons.
“Now you got something, you know? Now your father come down to help you, and you beat him up. So that’s letting you know, now we ain’t no joke. We ain’t playing now. This is The Bloodline.”
Interestingly enough, Rikishi has previously said he would be open to appearing in The Bloodline storyline, as long as it didn’t require an extensive WWE travel schedule.
Long’s criticism comes at a time when WWE shows no signs of moving on from the story. As previously reported here at Wrestling Noticias, backstage plans call for the Bloodline saga to continue at least through WrestleMania 43 in 2027.
