WWE has plans to shift The Bloodline’s presentation over the coming weeks as Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Jacob Fatu head into programs against different opponents.
According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Tuesday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan calls for The Bloodline to continue working heel during their feud with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight. Once the focus shifts to Royce Keys and his new stable, however, Reigns’ group is expected to work babyface.
That transition picked up steam on the August 24 Monday Night RAW. Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso faced Solo Sikoa and LA Knight in the main event, but the match ended in a no-contest when Royce Keys made his return. Keys came out alongside Bronco Nima and Lucien Price of OTM, and the trio attacked all four competitors. The appearance marked Nima and Price’s main roster debut.
The development represents a major shift for Keys. At SummerSlam on August 1, Keys teamed with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight to defeat Jacob Fatu and The Usos. Two days later, Fatu beat Keys in a Street Fight and continued the assault after the match. WWE later announced, in storyline, that Keys had suffered a laryngeal contusion and a cervical injury.
Keys’ ties to this storyline stretch back months. After picking up his first win on SmackDown, Solo Sikoa offered Keys his support backstage.
Roman Reigns did not appear on this week’s Raw but is confirmed for the August 31 episode, where he is expected to finally address the arrival of Royce Keys’ new stable.
