Danhausen may be on the verge of another major moment outside the WWE ring, this time directly tied to the New York Knicks.

According to backstage reports, WWE is already looking at possible plans involving Danhausen at Madison Square Garden if the Knicks win the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

The connection between Danhausen and the Knicks has become one of the more unusual stories of the playoffs. The wrestler appeared at Game 3 of the Finals at Madison Square Garden after he had “lifted” a supposed curse on the team during the first round, when the New York side was facing the Atlanta Hawks.

Since then, the character has been embraced by part of the fan base and by ESPN, appearing in content tied to the network’s NBA coverage. WWE, in turn, has used the exposure to keep Danhausen positioned as an entertainment figure outside the company’s traditional mold.

The Knicks enter Game 5 with a 3-1 lead over the Spurs, needing just one more win to capture their first title since 1973. The matchup will take place this Saturday at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.

Danhausen has already started joking about the possibility of taking part in the celebrations. In a recent post, he called for a giant balloon of himself at a potential Knicks parade, along with pizza and hot dogs for New Yorkers.

There is still no official confirmation on what Danhausen’s involvement at Madison Square Garden would be if the Knicks win the title. Still, given WWE’s historic relationship with the arena and the exposure the wrestler has gained in recent weeks, a special appearance appears to be under discussion.

Danhausen debuted in WWE at this year’s Elimination Chamber and, despite a mixed initial reception, quickly gained momentum on programming, especially through comedy segments and promotional appearances away from the weekly shows.
