Austin Theory may be entering one of the most significant stretches of his WWE career. The current World Tag Team Champion has been featured more prominently on Monday Night RAW as part of The Vision.
According to former WWE broadcaster Jonathan Coachman on the Coach & Bro Show, the company is very high on Theory right now. Coachman added that the internal push is also tied to Bron Breakker’s dissatisfaction with his current spot within The Vision.
That lines up with how Theory has been booked in recent weeks. On July 6, he and Breakker recaptured the World Tag Team Championship by defeating the Street Profits. Maxxine Dupri played a direct role in the finish, delivering a low blow to Angelo Dawkins before Theory secured the pin. Following the match, Dupri cemented her alliance with Theory.
The team has continued to receive prominent booking on RAW since then. Theory and Breakker defeated Je’Von Evans and Dragon Lee on July 20 and beat Akira Tozawa and Otis the following week.
Theory also picked up a singles win on the August 10 RAW, defeating Tozawa with the Off Switch. After the match, The Vision tried to continue the attack, but Oba Femi came out and turned his attention toward Breakker.
It represents a major shift for Theory, who now holds the World Tag Team Championship, has Maxxine Dupri in his corner, and is a consistent presence in The Vision’s top storylines.
