Rikishi has once again been linked to a possible WWE return, this time amid the latest phase of The Bloodline on WWE programming.
According to LV, Roman Reigns could bring the WWE Hall of Famer back as the group’s new “Wiseman,” filling an adviser role within the faction. As of now, however, WWE has not officially confirmed anything.
The speculation gained momentum after recent developments involving Reigns, The Usos, and Jacob Fatu. At Clash in Italy, Reigns defeated Fatu in a Tribal Combat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. On the following episode of Monday Night RAW, on June 1, Fatu was forced to acknowledge the OTC, once again strengthening the Samoan family’s presence at the top of WWE.
Rikishi’s potential arrival would make sense in that context, as he is the father of Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa, as well as one of the most respected names in the Anoa’i/Fatu dynasty. His presence could add even more weight to this new version of The Bloodline, especially now that Paul Heyman is away from Reigns and involved in other stories on WWE programming.
Rikishi himself has publicly addressed the possibility of returning to WWE in that role. On his podcast, he said he would be open to being part of the story, but only if the idea was properly built and not something done just to put him on television.
At the time, Rikishi also said he would want to see a real reaction from fans, with chants in arenas and support on social media, before seriously considering a return to weekly programming.
It remains to be seen whether WWE will actually move forward with the idea, or if Rikishi’s name will remain just another backstage rumor. For now, the only certainty is that The Bloodline is once again playing a central role in the company’s plans.
