WWE still hasn’t officially announced the date or location for Survivor Series 2026, and the reason appears to be tied to a significant change behind the scenes.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the company had been looking at holding this year’s premium live event in an international city. Those plans, however, reportedly fell apart in recent months, leaving WWE without a public answer for one of its biggest shows of the year.
The situation is drawing extra attention because Survivor Series 2026 will mark the event’s 40th edition, making the choice of host city even more significant. In recent years, WWE has taken the show to major markets, with recent editions held in Chicago, Vancouver, and San Diego.
As of late 2025, WWE was exploring the idea of holding the 2026 Survivor Series PLE in an international location. Those plans have reportedly fallen through over the past few months.

Beyond the international plan falling through, Boston reportedly pushed hard to land this year’s event as well. Those talks, however, stalled over financial issues. The situation is said to have mirrored what happened during negotiations for John Cena’s final match, which also passed on the city and ended up going to Washington, D.C.
Another key point: Arizona had been floated as a possible home for major WWE events following a multi-year deal between TKO and the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance. However, the alliance itself walked back earlier reports, clarifying that there was no confirmation of Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or Saturday Night’s Main Event being part of that agreement.
WWE is expected to make the official announcement before SummerSlam, which takes place August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
