WWE held the taping of a new match for Main Event on Friday, before the start of Friday Night SmackDown, at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. The match put current WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green face to face with Lainey Reid, a member of Fatal Influence.
The match marks a new encounter between the two after the serious injury suffered by Green in August, when Reid fell on Green’s head during a tag team move, causing a fracture in her orbital bone. At the time, Green ran the risk of losing the WWE Women’s Championship.
Reid commented on the incident during an interview on Busted Open on Aug. 17. When asked about the injury, she responded.
“The remorse is that I didn’t finish the job.”

The match also took place a few days after a change in the distribution of WWE Main Event. The company reached a deal with Rumble, which began airing the show on Wednesday, with new episodes every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
Friday’s taping put Green and Reid in a singles match, unlike the previous encounters involving Fatal Influence.
