Roman Reigns reached the 181-day mark as WWE World Heavyweight Champion on Saturday, establishing the third-longest reign in the history of the title introduced in 2023. He won the title by defeating CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 on April 19, and since then has remained undefeated in his defenses.
According to WWE’s official history, only Seth Rollins, with 316 days, and Gunther, with 258 days, had longer individual reigns. Reigns surpassed CM Punk, who remained with the title for 169 days, on Oct. 6.
The next statistical goal will be to surpass Gunther. By the count used by WWE, Reigns will need to remain with the World Heavyweight Championship until Jan. 3, 2027, to take over second place.
Roman Reigns’ current reign is the 3rd longest since the World Heavyweight Championship was introduced in 2023. He has now held the title for 181* days. https://t.co/Q9OAws6ATq

His most recent defense took place at Money in the Bank on Oct. 10, when he defeated LA Knight. Before that, he had also defended the title against Penta on the Sept. 14 RAW in Mexico City.
Reigns’ next commitment will be against Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel on Nov. 7. However, the matchup will be a Champion vs. Champion Match for the Crown Jewel Championship. Therefore, a possible loss would not end his reign as World Heavyweight Champion.
Penta, on the other hand, won the men’s Money in the Bank contract and has the possibility of using it to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship. He already faced Reigns for the title in September but was defeated.
