Jamie Hayter is out of action with an injury she suffered at All Out in September, Tony Khan revealed during a livestream on X following Wednesday’s Dynamite/Collision.
The injury has altered the WrestleDream card. The Brawling Birds were originally set to defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Wrathlander (Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron), but the match has been pulled.
Khan explained why the match will not take place.
“I was hoping The Brawling Birds would be able to defend the Tag Team Championship.”
But Hayter, he said, is still out injured from the Chicago Street Fight.
Khan then offered his outlook on Hayter’s recovery.
“Hopefully Jamie Hayter will be back in a couple of weeks. But that was a major injury.”
Hayter has not wrestled since Sept. 26, when she and Alex Windsor defeated Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) in the Chicago Street Fight at All Out, the match in which Hayter suffered the injury.
Despite being sidelined, Hayter appeared in a backstage segment on Wednesday’s Dynamite/Collision, where she acknowledged Wrathlander as challengers for the titles.
AEW still recognizes Hayter and Windsor as champions, but depending on how long Hayter’s recovery takes, it would not be surprising to see the titles vacated.
