AEW clarified how the winner of the Casino Gauntlet Match can use their title opportunity at All In: London, scheduled for August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London.
During Wednesday’s Grand Slam México broadcast, Excalibur explained that the winner will be able to challenge the AEW World Champion at any time. However, the contract holder will have to notify Tony Khan at least seven days in advance.
In other words, the opportunity cannot be used as an immediate, unannounced title shot right after a match. The winner will be able to choose the date and who they want to challenge, but only with advance notice.
The rule itself isn’t new, but AEW has been pushing it more heavily lately. Tony Khan announced the change after Forbidden Door 2025, after being unhappy with how MJF’s Casino Gauntlet contract from that year’s All In had been handled.
MJF ended up using the opportunity in December, with advance notice, to enter the AEW World Championship match. The match, which originally featured Samoa Joe, Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland, became a Fatal 4-Way Match. MJF won and captured the world title for the second time.
Before that, Christian Cage won the Casino Gauntlet at All In 2024. The veteran attempted to use the contract at Revolution 2025, but he was unable to leave Revolution as champion.
For this year’s edition, Andrade El Ídolo has already secured a major advantage. At Grand Slam México, the AEW National Champion defeated Tommaso Ciampa and a third opponent in a Triple Threat Match to earn the first entry in the Casino Gauntlet.
